| ::THE
REPORT:: |
There were less runners than the previous days and the
Domecq Bohóhquez bulls ( who made their debut last year
without causing any goring) presaged a relatively easy
run. But nothing could be further from the truth. The
herd took some ten seconds to leave the pen and this
meant that the bell-oxen did not lead the pack as is
usual and that the wild bulls went ahead of them. The
run along the sloping street of Santo Domingo experienced
some moments of real danger as the bulls charged along
in a tight pack on the right side, where a 69 year-old
American, James Brandao was gored in the left
thigh. The bulls moved up the street in stretched-out
formation which allowed for some fine close running
from some runners in front of the horns. |
