| ::THE
REPORT:: |
The main feature of today's bull-running was the news
that only five bulls from the Salamanca breeder Gutiérrez
de Lorenzo would make the run. The runners already knew
this fact before the start of the run and the likelihood
that the run would turn out to be less dangerous as
a result. The pack charged out of the pen with two bulls
leading the group - and this meant that they charged
up the Santo Domingo slope at a very fast pace which
added emotion to the event. Some very fine running could
be appreciated from some of the runners who were able
to run close to the horns and slip out again thanks
to the gaps which they found between the evenly spread
out bulls. Just one runner was seen to get a spectacular
toss as the bull thumped him in the back, but without
sticking its horns into the runner. |
