The fifth bull-running of the Sanfermin fiestas took place today, Thursday, July 11th and it resulted in two injured from gorings. As well, another six people needed hospital treatment for various injuries suffered during the bull-running.
The Hospital of Navarra has treated four injured people
Andrew Slater, a 38 year-old Englishman was gored in Mercaderes street. He suffered a goring to the external side of his left thigh with an ascending entrance of some 15 cm. The vascular nervous system has not been affected. He has been admitted to the hospital and his condition is rated as grave.
Juan Talegón Zaeraa 24 year-old from Seville, suffered a dislocated fracture to his left ankle. He was removed to hospital from the bull-ring. He has been admitted to hospital and hiis condition is rated as grave.
Ińigo Balbas Ruiz a 29 year-old from Pamplona was taken to hospital from the Tejeria corner suffering from contusion to his nose and left knee. He was discharged after treatment.
Barry Power a 19 year-old youth from Ireland was taken from the stretch at the Town Hall square where he suffered a scalp wound . He was discharged after receiving treatment.
Four other injured people were treated at the "Virgen del Camino" hospital:
Etienne Bolduc a 19 year-old from Canada was gored at the Teléfonica stretch. He suffered a goring of some 13 cm to the left armpit with an entrance to the pectoral zone, without suffering any damage to vascular nerve package. After undergoing an operation he will be kept in hospital.
Jean Marie Gaudin a 60 year-old from France was taken from the Town Hall stretch with severe abdominal traumatism. The prognostic is reserved.
Jesús Lacarra Luna a 46 year-old from the Navarra town of Olite was taken from the Santo Domingo stretch suffering from traumatism to the nose bone. His prognostic is not grave.
Vicente Tomás Aznar Alba a 46 year-old man from Castellón was taken from Estafeta street suffering from poli-traumatism. His prognostic was slight and he has already been discharged
